2019 Committee

Président – Lionel Ripoll

Trained in formulation at Université de Lyon, I worked for several years in the cosmetics industry as formulator, project manager, and then R&D manager. Since my arrival in Quebec, I teach health product formulation in the DESS in Cosmetology at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi.

This year, as Chair, I wish to continue contributing to the development of our chapter by participating in its promotion through various events. I will also be keen to help the team in the continuous development of the SCC chapter to offer always more to our members.

Chair-Elect – Lucian Ionescu

Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering – Department of Organic Chemistry, I have more than 30 years of experience in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry. I have held several jobs in R&D, QC, QA, and manufacturing. One of the pioneers of natural and organic cosmetics in Canada, I am currently working at Groupe Marcelle as Manufacturing and Technology Transfer Manager.

It is with pleasure and enthusiasm that I join the SCC committee today to share my passion and experience and contribute to the progress of our chapter.

Treasurer – Blandine Mosna

Four years already that I am involved in the committee of this beautiful association. I am very proud to be part of the SCC and to participate in its evolution to see it continue to offer more entertaining and educational activities to its members and, more broadly, to our local industry. It’s another great year ahead and I cannot wait to share our next events with you!

Treasurer-Elect – Karine Lapointe

Holder of a BSc in Chemistry and Microbiology, I held several jobs in R&D, QC, QA and formulation of detergents and cosmetics for 15 years before becoming Technical Account Manager for Pachem, 9 years ago.

I have participated in the SCC committee in the past and it is my pleasure to join the committee again as treasurer-elect. Looking forward to seeing you at future SCC events.

Secretary – Astrid de Jaham

Just finishing my bachelor’s degree in biology with a specialization in ecology from Concordia University, I now enter the world of cosmetics. I am celebrating my first year now at Evalulab as technical sales representative. I join the SCC to broaden my experience of cosmetics.

Editor – Amélie Gauthier

Graduate from ISPICA with a master’s degree in specialized chemistry for the cosmetics industry, my curiosity led me to work in various departments and sectors of this industry that I am so passionate about.

After spending several years in the R&D laboratory, I traveled across Quebec as a trainer. Recently, I have been active in sales representation with Brenntag in the Fine Ingredients branch.

The SCC has always been for me a welcoming and great place to meet, exchange, and share. I am very happy to be able to contribute to this association as editor this year.

Event planner – Isabelle Villeneuve

Creative scientist and passionate cosmetologist, I have developed over the past 25 years an expertise in innovation, market intelligence, and product development in this ever-changing industry. In my day-to-day work, I am fortunate to be surrounded by a great team having diverse skills and talents.

Enthusiastic to be able to put my energy and dynamism at the service of the beautiful association that is the SCC, it is as event organizer that I chose to invest myself in 2019. My objective: continue to offer quality meetings and uniting activities promoting exchanges and conviviality … and thus contribute to increasing the reach of the SCC!

I wish to see many of you at our meetings and I strongly invite you to share any comments or suggestions that could add to the quality of our activities!

Communications manager – Marie-Hélène Dufresne

Chemist by training, I acquired knowledge in formulation and drug delivery systems in the context of doctoral studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Montreal. I made the leap in cosmetics 6 years ago by joining Biomod, a Montreal-based company that designs and develops innovative cosmetic products.

With experience in scientific writing and publishing, I am pleased to pursue my work as Communications Manager in the 2019 committee. This year again, I hope to help promote the Quebec chapter and promote Quebec’s cosmetics industry.
